James Weiner, Psy.D.
The co-creator of Associates for Life's Challenges brings a broad range of professional experiences. With over thirty years experience, Dr. Weiner's appreciation of what makes us "human" allows him to respond to the array of life's obstacles. He balances his psychotherapy practice with consulting, training, and facilitating workshops. As the statewide consultant for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), he developed a model for victims' support groups. While Clinical Coordinator of Group Treatment for the Cook County Department of Corrections, Dr. Weiner trained staff and implemented a structured psycho-educational program that impacted hundreds. Dr. Weiner worked with adolescents at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Weiner's work has been presented at the national conventions of the American Psychological Association, the National Organization of Victims Assistance, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Dr. Weiner holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology.
